Join the Sharon Historical Society, in conjunction with the Sharon Beautification Commission, for our FREE Downtown Sharon History Walks. In this special event, we will explore nooks, crannies, and hidden places downtown! Step back in time and explore the rich history of downtown Sharon, Pennsylvania, on a captivating walking tour. Our guided journey takes you throughout the central business district, where historic buildings, landmarks, and stories from the past come to life. From the bustling days of industrial growth to the architectural gems that still stand today, discover the pivotal moments that shaped Sharon’s development. Learn about the vibrant communities that once thrived here, the influential figures who left their mark, and the fascinating tales that have been passed down through generations. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, our History Walks offer a unique and engaging way to experience the charm and heritage of Sharon.
Stops on this behind-the-scenes History Walk may include a unique view from the Protected Home Circle Building (now Gilbert’s Risk Solutions), a hidden, underground tunnel, an inside view of Penn State University’s historic Shenango campus buildings, private spaces at the Masonic Lodge Building (now The Corinthian), and inside the historic Columbia Theatre!
The History Walks will be approximately 1.5-2 hours over a 1.5-mile route of flat terrain, sometimes uneven. Because this tour explores hidden spaces not usually open to the public, STEPS AND WALKING ARE REQUIRED. Rare photographs and interesting stories will be printed in our FREE collectible booklet!
Two identical History Walks will begin at 10:00 am and 12:00 pm/Noon on Saturday, July 25, 2026. These are FREE and OPEN TO ALL!! Donations are appreciated!! The History Walks starting point will be announced closer to the event date.
