Join the Sharon Historical Society, in partnership with Buhl Mansion Boutique Hotel & Spa, for exclusive guided spring history tours of the historic Frank H. Buhl Mansion. During these hour-long tours, guests are invited to explore the beauty of the mansion and its surrounding grounds as the season comes to life in bloom.
One of only a handful of castles in America, Buhl Mansion stands as a striking example of Gilded Age elegance—its turrets, stained-glass windows, and ornate interiors offering a glimpse into a bygone era. In the springtime, the experience extends beyond the mansion walls, as the gardens and grounds awaken with vibrant colors, fresh scents, and peaceful outdoor spaces that enhance the estate’s timeless charm.
Guests will enjoy a guided historical tour of the mansion while also strolling through the picturesque grounds, including the carriage house and Victorian greenhouse. As you wander the rooms once home to Frank H. Buhl—the famed steel magnate known as the “Father of the Industrial Shenango Valley”—you’ll uncover the story of the mansion’s construction in 1891, its role in the region’s industrial heritage, and the legacy that continues to make it a treasured landmark today.
From the intricate craftsmanship of the grand staircase to the light-filled rooms that reflect the renewal of the season, each space offers its own unique perspective on the mansion’s history and architecture. Outdoors, guests can take in the beauty of landscaped gardens, budding trees, and the serene atmosphere that makes spring at Buhl Mansion especially memorable.
Perfect for history enthusiasts, garden lovers, and families looking for a unique seasonal outing, these exclusive guided tours offer a fresh way to experience one of Pennsylvania’s most enchanting historic treasures—just 90 minutes from Pittsburgh, Erie, and Cleveland.
Tours will be led by author and historian Taylor Galaska, who will guide guests throughout the property, highlighting architectural details of both the interior and exterior, as well as the surrounding landscape. Space is limited to preserve an intimate and engaging experience.
