EVENT DETAILS: Join the Sharon Historical Society, in partnership with Buhl Mansion Boutique Hotel & Spa, for the return of our beloved Christmas guided history tours of the historic Frank H. Buhl Mansion. During these hour-long, guided tours this holiday season, step into a world where history and Christmas spirit intertwine. One of only a handful of castles in America, Buhl Mansion stands as a testament to the Gilded Age—its turrets, stained-glass windows, and opulent interiors offering the perfect backdrop for a celebration of timeless holiday traditions.

Guests are invited to experience a guided historical tour of the mansion, beautifully transformed for Christmas with lavish décor, twinkling lights, and festive greenery. As you wander the magnificent rooms once home to Frank H. Buhl—the famed steel magnate known as the “Father of the Industrial Shenango Valley”—you’ll discover the fascinating story of the mansion’s construction in 1891, its ties to the region’s rich history, and the legacy that continues to make Buhl Mansion a treasured landmark today.

Each space tells its own tale: the grand staircase draped in garlands, the library glowing with twinkle lights, and the parlor adorned with a grand tree that captures the magic of a Gilded Age Christmas. The scent of fresh pine, the shimmer of antique ornaments, and the warmth of crackling fireplaces bring the season alive, creating a truly immersive experience that transports you to another time.

Author and historian Taylor Galaska will lead the group throughout the property, its carriage house, and the Victorian greenhouse, showcasing interesting architectural features on the exterior of the building, and explore the first and second floors inside the mansion. Tours are offered on select dates throughout the holiday season, and space is limited to preserve the intimate, magical atmosphere. Gather your loved ones, don your holiday best, and make memories in one of Pennsylvania’s most enchanting historic treasures, 90-minutes from Pittsburgh, Erie, and Cleveland.
